I like them a lot. I don't agree with everything, but I still like them, if only because of Peeta and because it's an evil government story.

*jumps up and down, waving hand* I've read the first book! I'm trying to get the others, but I haven't gotten over to my neighbors yet. (They have this lovely library - books all over the place - and I wanted to read The Hunger Games before I bought them.) I really liked The Hunger Games and can't wait to continue - I thought that some of it was pretty lame though.

I'm definitely into the dystopian storyline; but I wouldn't call The Hunger Games trilogy my favorite reads ever. I've actually only read The Hunger Games, and is it just me, or is that stuff quite violent/gruesome??? The movie adaption wasn't quite as bad, but still too much for me. However, I loved the movies of Catching Fire and Mockingjay: Part 1. I'm so scared to watch Mockingjay: Part 2 though!! I really need to read the book first!! And oh yes, I love Peeta!!!! He and Katniss ... their love story ... eek! Is their no happy endings for them?

I've seen the first Movie, and read the first two books, but I doubt that I'll ever finish the series. It's not that I didn't like them - I did, a lot more than I expected. It's just that I don't like books that are emotional wringers. I know the plot of Mockingjay and that's good enough for me. {Spoiler} (And I'm kinda hoping that if I never read the book, Prim will survive.)

Spoilers, Kendra! I know what happens, but that doesn't mean everyone on here does. I've read them several times. I can't wait for MJ 2, but I'll never be ready for the emotional damage. Though honestly, while I say stuff like that a lot, I sound way more dramatic than I actually feel. I rarely cry over fiction.

Sowwy, I fixed it. Still, so long as I don't read the book, I don't have to admit that it happens.

I'm sort of somewhat considering reading 'em. It's not that I don't want to, I just have a bajillion other books to read first.

This afternoon. *shrugs*
Amanda: I'd say go ahead and read them, they're pretty good, and you're liable to start fangirling over them. They're just a bit more dramatic than I care to read.

I have only watched the first movie (didn't read it either). I was quite traumatized by it so I haven't watched or read the others. I love the dystopian genre just Hunger Games was a little much for me.

were any of you guys sad when cato died in the movie? I was. Especially because of what he says right before the end; basically, that all he knows is how to kill.

I read them the first time when I was 17. I've reread them as I bought them (used). I didn't really hear about it until the movie came out, and didn't read them until after we watched the first movie on Netflix while on vacation at the beach. What was weird was that the next day, as I was out in a rented kayak with my dad close enough to hear dolphins breathing, what kept on going through my head was "happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor."

rayray - Yeah, I liked them. Mockingjay left me feeling shellshocked, but I liked them anyway. Although it's a bit morbid, I liked The Hanging Tree.

Mockingjay is just that way. I liked it best the first time, strangely enough. I'm looking forward to my dad's reaction to the movie. I'm with you on The Hanging Tree. It's easy to get stuck in your head, too.

dragongirlwriter, I definitely agree with the shell-shocked feeling ... at least after watching Mockingjay: Part 1! I haven't read the book yet. (And The Hanging Tree song really stuck to me too! Haha) I just read Catching Fire recently and really liked it!! I think I still liked the movie better, minus the swearing. I definitely liked Joanna better in the movie. And I've always thought Katniss is better in the movies too. But in any case, I really did enjoy reading Catching Fire. It wasn't near as bad (gruesome) as The Hunger Games!! Now I just want to watch Catching Fire over again ... something about that movie just thrills me. Too bad my Netflix month just cancelled ...

I read all the books and have seen all of the movies but Mockingjay Part 2. It isn't my favorite series, but it is really good. The actor for Rue in Hunger Games was sooo cute and sweet. I loved her so much
