Clara: A war against a dragon sorceress who's a couple thousand years old. And no, I've already got a Fire Prince. I don't need any more tag-alongs.

Skylar: *to Clara* According to my author, I'm not good at being interesting. You wouldn't believe some of the arguments we've had. *Suspiciously surveys the room one more time before cautiously sheathing one dagger* Nice sword, by the way.

Clara: The Arista says I'm interesting, but she still insists ... *shurgs* And thanks. This sword is one of the few perks about being Water Princess. The ring's nice, too, though I'm not exactly it outweighs everything.

Kaelan: That's too bad. That sounds way more exciting than anything that's happened to me in the past many years. I'd love to see this dragon sorceress, and that "Fire Prince" sounds like the stuff of a fairy tale. And that's actually funny; I think my author's trying to tell me something...
*shakes his head and concentrates*
Kaelan: That's crazy! She says she just saw YOU in some "counsel room" just a moment ago, and then you were gone, racing out a hallway and disappearing. How could my author even know you exist?? People, is this a conspiracy? What are we doing here, anyway?

Skylar: *rolls eyes* Isn't everything a conspiracy when the authors are involved? And... Clara, right? Are you any good with your sword?

Clara: My book's finished and being edited. *shrugs* I believe your author's reading it to make it "perfect" or something like that. Can't wait until it's done, because I think that my author will leave alone after that. I hope. Yeah, there's a conspiracy.

Kaelan: What, does that mean we can form some sort of Adopt-An-Author Society? Because I could really use the benefit of some new ones. Maybe then I'd get something exciting to do - or maybe my world would be less humdrum... Ha! "Making it perfect" indeed! *looks carefully at each person in the room to see if he can detect anyone who looks abnormal*

Well, guess that if you were still in the mulling point you could possibly do that, but I'm only about two months from publication, and the Arista won't give me up now.

Yeah. Not happening. *to Clara* How good or bad is "not half-bad"?

Kaelan (paces up and down, looking for something to do with himself. He crosses his arms with a half-scowl): Too late for me, too, my author says. She won't let me go. Skylar, is it? What kind of excitement? I'll take anything! Maybe I could duel with your - how did you say it? - "guy" and do away with him for you?

Clara: Not as great as my mother, but I can hold my own against her. I'd suggest a duel, but my author has a strict policy against fighting characters from other books.

Clara: I might accept, and then we'd have to get this fellow over there to flip a coin to determine who'd win. So artificial, so I'd rather not.

His name is Joseph, and knowing my author, she'll probably bring him in here at some point. As for the excitement, it involves some type of treasure. You'd think I'd know more than that, but I don't . Era said something this morning about a compromise (More ships, hopefully) but I'm not convinced she'll follow through with it- or do it the way I want. Authors.

Clara: *examines coin* Ah. *tosses it back* Well, where I come from, it's heads or tails, even though there usually isn't a tail on the tail side. Regardless, first we have to actually decide to duel, and then determine who gets heads or tails - or land or sky in this case.

Clara: Actually, I was talking about the fellow who actually flipped the coin. *shrugs* Agreed. Much as I enjoy dueling, it's not so fun against someone else's character. Andrew: *Sixteen, tall, redheaded, green eyes, freckles, dressed in a t-shirt and jeans, but also wearing a sword, as well as a ruby ring and circlet* *Emerges from the kitchen bearing a steaming pot of spaghetti* Anyone hungry? And no throwing against the walls! Clara: I'll get plates *disappears into the kitchen.*

Peter: *shrugs* I'm not really that hungry. Nothing against your cooking, I'm sure you're a great cook, just...I was stabbed in the stomach not long ago and that doesn't exactly improve your appetite.

Clara: *Emerges from the kitchen with a tall stack of plates and forks which she sets down on a coffee table where Andrew has set the spaghetti* With these. *Glances at Andrew* How come you get to wear modern clothes while I'm stuck in this Rizkan garb? Andrew: I have no clue.

Scarlett. Black hair. Green eyes. Tall. Walks in and says, "Where am I?" She then sees a coffee maker and French vanilla creamer and says, "Never mind, just keep me here."
