Kyle's story... that also brings back characters from TPDP and Every Tear. Mariah's feelings, conflict, and responses were brought out very well. And Louise was the stereotypical annoying flirt. I wasn't surprised to find out her motives... Elizabeth was a likable character - I could relate well to her. Again, the many miracles of this story showed God's hand. That's one of my favorite things about this series: God's hand so clearly. The characters pray about everything, big or small. They don't make a move without seeking God first. They rely on Him for protection. He permeates their life. {Spoiler for ACH} The moment I heard about Mariah, I knew she was Kyle's. It just had to be. Finding out who she really was ended up being just an extra bonus. I loved how Kyle treated the slaves as well. I knew he would never deliver them. Elizabeth, Travis, Kyle, and Mariah's patience were amazing and really made the story. I also loved Kyle's father by the end of the book. Anthony is indeed one of the most loathsome villains I have read... He didn't even act all that badly compared to some, but the way he is made me shiver.
