I'm not really sure if this goes into Fireside Chat. But I'm getting a camera soon so I was wondering if any of you had some beginner tips.

What kind of tips do you want, tips for photography, or how to use the camera...? I don't use an expensive camera, so if the one you're getting is one of the better ones, I might not be much help. I might be able to give you photography tips from my experience, though, if you ever need any.

I have a camera (looks kinda like old Spider-Man camera) it even runs on film. From my experience (taking picures with my phone) to get the clearest picture you must slow your heart beat so that when you take the picture it won't come out blurry. Which basically means to to just relax and enjoy the moment. I hope that helps

A lot of tips depends on what kind of pictures you want to take. If you want to photgraph night pics with stars/fireworks/sparkers/etc then you need a camera stand and one of the accessories that you press the button on. (sorry my mind is blanking out on the name of it) If you want to take portraits then have them do different poses, don't always put your subject in the middle of the camera. Also, lighting is always a big deal. It can make or break your pictures. Depending on your camera you could get different lenses to do Macro and stuff. I got my camera a year ago, and have enjoyed using it and learning more about photography. It's really fun once you learn how your camera works.

I got the camera I mentioned in my last post on this thread. It's been fun, but I have to learn all those settings! I'll just have to sit down sometime and watch the DVD and read the instruction manual. The videoing is really cool, because you can focus on different things while you're recording the video. bourdongirl , do you have a camera? If so, what kind? (sorry, I'm curious about other people who like photography. )
