This thread is for... Well, notifying people when you'll be absent from the Jorum. A trip, a hiatus, anything. If you won't be posting for a while, this is the perfect place to let people know. I'll start, I guess. I'll be taking a break from the Jorum for NaNoWriMo (all except for the NaNoWriMo thread). I'm going to focus on writing, so if you see me posting on a thread other than the Nano thread... Tell me to write! xP I'm going for the 50,000! Wish me blessings!

*nods* So I'm not alone! I'm going to update my progress on there. Maybe we could even organize Word Sprints?

Well, a Word Wars and Word Sprints are different things (at least, the group I do them with thinks they are... Some people think they're the same.)
With a word war, you set a time limit, say, ten minutes, and then write as fast as you can for that time. Then at the end you share your wordcount, and if you want to, you share the last sentence you wrote.
With a word sprint, you set a certain number of words and race to that number. Whoever gets there first wins. Writedeck makes it funner, because it has meters, so you can see everyone's progress as they write.

Ahhh, it said Word Wars, so I thought that they were the same thing. I think they are, technically... We decided to refer to them that way, though, to help distinguish between the two of them. MistyofGreenshire , I used Writedeck a lot during Camp NanoWrimo. It helped tremendously. ... rayray , you can't friend people on there... Are you talking about something else?

I was posting all during NaNo. I know, no self control.
Added: But in my defense, I did make it to 50k.

I've already not been on the Jorum as often as before, but that 'trend' might continue for me - life's busy right now (most wonderful time of the year, but a busy one!) and so I won't be on here much. I'll still occasionally check in - still might be once a day, I don't know. Depends.

Aiden Not sure what it being a busy time of year has to do with me celebrating Christmas. It's evident I don't - we've had several discussions about it. It's just a busy time in our life right now. And it's the Season of Lights, and winter and that's what helps to make it a wonderful time of the year for me. Just because we don't celebrate Christmas, doesn't mean I can't enjoy winter. It's my utmost favourite season.

See and that is why i am confused BladeSpinnerRae because you are using terms that ate directly or indirectly associated with Christmas, or maybe it's just me. I have nevt been the sharpest arrow and i am most likely just reading it wrong. And i am not trying to annoy you or make you mad, it's just me that is confused

Sorry to confuse you Aiden. It's our family's decision to not make a big deal about Christmas. We're not against people that celebrate it, we've just decided that for our family, we're not going to concentrate on it being a big to-do. We'd rather celebrate Christ (and yes that means He came down incarnate as man) all year long. But we do enjoy this time of year - like I said, it's the Festival of Lights, it's winter, it's cold outside and we can hunker down inside with cocoa and all the fun stuff. And that's why it's my favourite time of year, or as I said, to me the most wonderful time of the year and this also includes Spring when it's Passover and we can celebrate His Resurrection, really making it the absolute wonderful time of the year. I hope that explains it better.
