And now a thread for the third and final volume of the trilogy. This was my favorite book, and the plot twists were brilliant. Just saying, but the one involving Sirion ....

I gotta ask do Sirion and Makilien get married in the book or do they not say? *grins* Are we supposed to tell you that??? Hint: Does Jaye typically create awesome romance and then leave her characters and readers hanging?

I gotta ask do Sirion and Makilien get married in the book or do they not say? Ilyana. That's all I'm going to say. (It is said yea or nay, though, so you don't have to worry about being left hanging.)

(You mean Ilynna there is no ilyana in Trust?) What! Huh *look of desperation appears on face* of course you can tell me! *starts to sob* And what something with Ilynna? you're just going to make me wait and see I can't wait 330 pages to find out:/ what does she, oh yes yes. Speculation( that won't happen;) ) Derrin comes back becomes good guy falls in love with her and the have a huge wedding for Sirion and Makilien, Aiden and Vonawyn, Derrin and Ilynna and Halandor and Lanae and we can find someone for the elf brothers and Torick;) and they live happily ever after And I don't know this will be the first of Jaye's series I've ever finished so I wouldn't know if she would kill them off or not (even though I know she wouldn't *pauses* I think )

Yeah, Ilynna. I'm going off of memory on name spellings. Interesting speculation. Very interesting.

Argg how could Sirion do such a thing I just read it and I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't read it with my own um eyes!? why didn't he just tell Makilien how he felt! I wouldn't think Sirion to stoop that low:( or is Vayzar the mastermind of this *gasp* he brainwashed him! :0

*whimpers and stuffs chocolate in mouth* I guess your right I will, if I can last 228 more pages:'| but on the back cover it says that "a Sudden arrival changes everything, bringing to light a new scheme wrought by the rements of Zirtan's men" so it's all part of Vayzar's plot he put brainwashing powder in the food or like hypnotized him into thinking he loved Ilynna! Will I ever feel the urge to throw my book across the room and stomp on it? Edit= Aha so it was his twin and let me guess he's the dark elf! I'm so relieved:)

Yes, it was that bit that made me an irrevocable fan of the trilogy. I was all on the edge of my seat - Sirion, Sirion WHAT ARE YOU DOING and then bam! He's a twin and 3,000% more awesome. Except that it meant that Sirion was still in the villain's grasp, and that wasn't so awesome.

I actually had a fanfic planned along the lines of "Captivated" and then Molly told me she was actually working on a short story, and so I threw a small fangirl party instead.

I just realized that I hadn't said anything about this. I rad it about 2 weeks ago. I had already read the sample on Amazon though. I couldn't wait till i got it after reading Courage. Some of the end is so dark and scary. As mature as bits in Resistance and The Kings Scrolls. If I had known beforehand I might not have given it to my 13 year old brother. He was fine with it though. I didn't actually give the first one to him. He secretly borrowed it from the other brother.
I found that as soon as I knew about Ryelan, I just about forgot he was the dark elf. He hardly seemed like an enemy any more. Faceless villains are always the one you can have no sympathy with.

Trust continues the story begun in Truth and Courage. Many of the loose ends, plots, and characters mentioned in the first two books become central to the plot of this one. One might wonder how, with the conclusion in Courage regarding the struggle of good and evil, Trust could continue the story – but there is certainly no lack of plot, drama, and tension in Trust!
This book is not a repeat of the other two. The plot is entirely fresh and new; the evil is different; the methods of fighting against it are different. We are again reunited with favorite characters and introduced to some new ones. Many chapters end with cliffhangers, encouraging the reader to press on to find out what happens. In addition, multiple plotlines are working simultaneously as various characters have separate adventures that later become intertwined – and the author’s shifting between the situations leaves the reader wondering what happened in each instance. Of course, the conflict is later explained. This style of writing truly makes the book interesting and enjoyable.
The theme of Trust is indeed trust. The complex plots, the sudden appearances of characters both new and old, the contradictions in character’s behaviors – indeed, whom can Makilien and her friends trust? Can anyone be trusted? Can they even trust each other? How can they know?
This book has a more modern feel than the previous books which had a stronger medieval feel. The strategies are more advanced and developed; the humans are the central focus. Other species do not appear as much as they did in the other books. Additionally, the violence is greater. Evil creatures simply battle and war; evil humans are much more sinister in their approaches to dealing with their enemies. Still, the painful scenes are not overdone and most people should be able to stomach the book just fine.
The greatest overarching themes in the book are the themes of loyalty/sacrifice (“Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”) and the incredible workings of Elohim who uses every evil occurrence to bring about good and avert otherwise unavoidable disaster. Indeed, with the examples of how everything in life serves Elohim’s purposes, as is laid out in the story, how can one fail to trust Him for everything? Being a witness to how He uses all things – bad situations as well as good situations – for good strengthens the knowledge that we can indeed trust Him.
