Hi everyone! I'm Shantelle. I'm a little late getting here, I feel; but it's mostly because I don't know anything about these boards and I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do, haha! Well, tell me if I'm doing something wrong. Anyway, so excited to chat with you all about the Ilyon Chronicles and more! I love reading ... (obviously) ... have loved it pretty much ever since I started! Christian fantasy is my favorite genre, so of course, Resistance, The King's Scrolls, and Half-Blood were wonderful reads for me! I also enjoy historical, fairytale, dystopian, mystery, and perhaps some contemporary. I'm a writer at heart! I've been writing since age eight, and just recently, at eighteen, published my first story, a fairytale novella called A Dream Not Imagined. Quite excited about that!!!! And even more excited to have sent my full length (about 700 page) fantasy novel to fifteen beta readers!! I can't wait to publish this one! I'm the second-oldest of eight children. Oldest girl (yep, people, namely my younger siblings, say I'm bossy. Hehe). Chocolate is a must. Though, I try to be healthy, since I'm intolerant to wheat and peanuts, and still struggling to figure out my health issues! Ultimate Frisbee is the only sport I enjoy. Hate winter. Love my Lord! I'm a hopeless romantic, ...And I don't know what else to say. But so looking forward to getting to know you guys!! ^_^

Hi Shantelle! Welcome! Side note: unfortunately, living in a rather hot area, I can't agree with you about liking summer. But I will agree that chocolate is awesome!

Hi Shantelle! Grand to have you here! But you don't like winter?!?! Hehe, just kidding. I know many people don't. It is my FAVOURITE season though. I wish there could be two winters and no summer... But I understand that we need summer for, like, gardening for instance...but there are greenhouses... Okay, I'll stop. Every one has their preference!

dragongirlwriter, thank you!! Well, at least we agree on chocolate, hehe! I do agree that really hot, muggy summers can be not so nice as well. @maid Bria, thanks!! Oh dear, maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to celebrate. Still cold where you live? BladeSpinnerRae, hey!! And thank you! Good to be here! Haha, yes, everyone does have their preference! I personally just don't understand how people could like winter, But I do have this problem where I'm just ALWAYS cold. And I used to live in Minnesota, which, in case you didn't know, could get down to 40 below in the winters! I lived a miserable existance, HAHA! Not really. But it was ...... brrrr!

Hi LilyEm! Ah, so you know how it is! Summer is like fresh... fresh chances, fresh ideas, fresh plans. Erm, I don't know. I just feel like I'm waking up when summer comes around! Chocolate fantastic, isn't it? Always seems to brighten the day

Well actually, I DO know, because I live in MN - have my whole life. The 40 below *does* get a little bitter, but I'd take it over 90degree weather ANY day. XD I'd actually like to move more North...hehe. Which part of MN did you used to live in? (You don't have to give the town name if you don't want to) I'm in about central MN. Still too 'south' for me. XD

@maid Bria, ah, I see! Winter for you. So what are the temperatures like there? BladeSpinnerRae, hahaha, I totally forgot that!!! Wow, brilliant me! Well, MN certainly is the place for you then! One of my cousins from there loves winter as well, so I'm just like, "That great! Erm. You're in the perfect place!!!" I was from more the central area as well. My cousins lived more up north. Gah, you're crazy! I just remember sitting in the car in the dead of winter, waiting while my mom filled the car up with gas, frozen to my very bones, I'll take the 90 degree weather! No, actually, I prefer the 80 degree summers and 30-40 degree winters. Where I was born, that was pretty much what we got . . . I miss it!!!!

Ooh, that's cool!! Too bad we didn't figure that out sooner; I just moved from MN, actually two months away from a year ago! With the exception of the -40 weather and short summers, I really miss it!!!

It's not like you and I talked in depth about it before! =) Yes, I do love MN quite well. Although the summers get way too hot...today was in the 90s and the humidity is always terrible. But I'm sorry for complaining...XD Haha, that's neat that your cousin loves the winter too - yep, perfect place indeed! Except for maybe...Iceland. I want to live in Greenland just for a while. It's a dream of mine. =D I like 70 degree summers - 80 is ok as long as there isn't too much humidity. That makes it so much worse, I think. I hate being sticky. Hehe. And winters...eh, I'm fine with just about anything. I just don't like to do chores in the below zero temps. XD What's the weather like where you live now?

Ahh, you guys should totally do it!! And I'll have to come visit and be part of it! Hehe. Too bad I moved, hey? BladeSpinnerRae, yeah, I suppose it's forgivable, hey? Oh boy, it is getting hot up there!! In June? That's kind of surprising. But I guess . . . it is almost July! Iceland or Greenland, my, you are adventurous!! Is it because of the Viking history, or do you just really want to live in a colder place? Ah yes, that's what got to my older brother. Going outside to do chores in the below zero weather. Well, we got down in the single digits this winter. But I was up in MN (on a trip with my older brother) at that time, so we were enjoying -20 or so instead. As of now, its been in the 80s or 90s probably. It gets pretty sticky, but the last few days haven't been so bad.

Yes - TOO hot for June! But It's relatively normal. We get super cold winters, but also super hot summers. The state of Extremes XD At least the winter is longer - that's in my favour, at least... Hehe, a bit of both. I LOVE the Viking history - always have - but the cold also calls to me. =D Ah yes, good old chores. I think bundling up in the winter to go do chores takes longer than the chores themselves! Okay, cool. But sorry that when you visited it was -20! That is cold, indeed.

BladeSpinnerRae, I know . . . I think it would be spectacular to meet you all in person!! It is extreme, isn't it! Haha. When my family first moved to MN, it was June and 40 degrees. We were like, "What in the world is this place? It's summer!!!" Hehe, what do you mean?? Long winters are the worst! For sure! That's why I never liked going outside in the winter. Bundling up took FOREVER. Yep! I hope to visit in the summer sometime! . . . At least I was gone on vacation that time when MN weather got down to 50 below. I was enjoying 40 degree weather when my mom called me and said, "Yeah ... it's 50 below here." My sister started calling it Antarctica,

At the moment it's getting up to 15 C and down to -2 C. *Quickly goes to calculator.* Which in Fahrenheit is about 59 and 28.

Haha, that's funny! But I believe it. Weather here can definitely be crazy. Haha, not for me! Yes, there we go. You come on up in summer. That way it won't be that bad for you. =) Oh really? Haha that's nice that you missed that 50 below weather! Bbrrrr. (I love that jaw-dropping smiley - too funny!)

Welcome, Shantelle!
Um yep, I hate winter too. We had 3ft of snow (or something) in March, so I'm all snowed out for the rest of my life. Ha.
So glad to have you join us! (Even though I have no idea what I'm doing either.)

@maidbria, aww, no fun. Unless you like cold weather... katiegrace, I will have to!! That would be totally awesome to get together! Someday, maybe...! BladeSpinnerRae, isn't the jaw-dropping smiley hilarious?? These are just too much fun!!! Haha. Well, that's awesome then; you're really in the right place! Except when it gets down to -50 probably! amandabeguerie, thank you!! Goodness, I know what you mean!! After that much snow and cold, you're like, "If I never see winter again, that'll be okay with me." I was truly feeling like that last year when we were getting snow in like April, and my grad party was scheduled for the middle of May!!! Well, we can muddle through together, and hope we're doing everything right!
