I am on my way to publishing, but God's and my time are different. ^.^ I am going through the 2nd edit of what will be my first published book - whenever God desires that to be. I'm planning on self-publishing as well.

Just wondering. I am trying to decide on which i should do Aiden I don't know for sure, but I think traditional publishing would be better. You get the help of an editor and publisher, and also, people tend to look down on self published books because of all the ones that weren't well written.

*nods* And that would be great, Lil'Owl, but it's often helpful to have a professional editor work with you.

The #1 bit of advice to be given to any budding author is "get an editor besides your mom." Even if your mom is a English Major, she's still your mom, and she doesn't have the guts to cut and slash where necessary. I do have my mom edit at least some of my writing, but I always make sure I have other people edit it as well. Preferably people who haven't read my writing before.

I'll get some people to read my book that haven't read my writing before to help. My mom is really good at editing my big papers for school and telling me that a part needs to be trashed and a part that needs to be better and stuff like that.

It's a Beauty and the Beast retelling, set in a village-y/medieval-y background, and with a godly twist and the Lord's healing. Most of my writing consists of showing His healing.

I just realized that my count has a mother around and she's a pretty cool old lady. She doesn't have a name yet, I don't know what she looks like but i already love her.

I like that. It would only work in some setting but it's definitely a bit different.

I just had this thought the other day of how one of my characters was a bit Crete like. Now I can imagine my story set in Ilyon. Not in the present though, either past or future I don't know enough about they history to decide. There are some things that wouldn't work. I really need a word with fairy tales.

I thought it would be cool to give just the gist of what our stories revolve around. Like mine is basically this "the male protagonist must cop with the new changes to his life. He struggles to balance school, life, and the end of the world"
